The production of heavy magnesium oxide is based on the decomposition reaction of magnesium carbonate. When heated to temperatures around 700°C to 800°C, magnesium carbonate decomposes into magnesium oxide (MgO) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). By controlling the calcination temperature and time, magnesium oxide with specific particle size and purity can be obtained.
