1. Polypropylene fiber has high strength, wear resistance, good elasticity and corrosion resistance
Polypropylene fiber has high strength (same strength in dry/wet state), which can reach the strength of polyester, and is very suitable for making fishing nets and cables; it is wear-resistant and elastic, and its rebound rate is comparable to nylon, which is much higher than polyester. Polypropylene fiber has poor stability, so polypropylene fiber fabrics are prone to pilling and deformation; its chemical resistance far exceeds that of other fibers, and it has strong anti-microbial properties and is not easy to be eaten by insects.
2. Polypropylene fiber has good thermal insulation and insulation properties
Polypropylene fiber has poor thermal conductivity and its resistivity is much higher than that of ordinary fibers. Compared with other chemical fibers, polypropylene fiber has the best thermal insulation and insulation properties.
3. Polypropylene fiber has poor dyeing and hygroscopicity
Polypropylene fiber has poor dyeing performance, light color and low color fastness. Ordinary fuels cannot dye it. Colored polypropylene fiber is mainly produced by pre-spinning coloring method. Fuel complexing agent can be mixed with original solution coloring and fiber modification before melt spinning.
Polypropylene fiber has the worst dyeing and hygroscopicity of all chemical fibers, and has almost no hygroscopicity. Fine polypropylene fiber has strong wicking ability and removes absorbed water vapor through the capillaries in the fiber. The comfort performance of clothing is very good, and the best comfort is ultra-fine polypropylene fiber. The surface area becomes larger, the fabric can remove sweat faster, and the skin can maintain full comfort. This is also the reason why polypropylene fiber fabrics are easy to wash and dry quickly.
4. The heat resistance and aging resistance of polypropylene fiber are poor
The raw material of polypropylene fiber is propylene, which has a low melting point and poor stability when affected by heat and light. Therefore, the aging and heat resistance of polypropylene fiber are poor. Try to avoid ironing to avoid deformation. Manufacturers generally add certain anti-aging agents during spinning to improve the anti-aging performance of polypropylene fiber.
5. The quality of polypropylene fiber is very light
The density of polypropylene fiber is the smallest among all chemical fibers, so polypropylene fiber is often used as the filling material of winter clothing, mountaineering clothing, ski clothing, etc.
Polypropylene fiber has the advantages of high strength, good toughness, good chemical resistance and antimicrobial resistance, and low price. Therefore, it is widely used in ropes, fishing nets, safety belts, luggage belts, safety nets, sewing threads, cable sheaths, geotextiles, filter cloths, papermaking felts, and paper reinforcement materials.
Polypropylene woven geotextiles made by using the excellent properties of polypropylene fiber such as high strength, acid resistance, alkali resistance, antimicrobial resistance, and equal dry and wet strength can reinforce civil engineering projects built on soft soil foundations (such as dams, reservoirs, highways, railways, etc.), and evenly distribute the load on the geotextile, so that the roadbed settlement is uniform and the ground cracking is reduced. When building a slope, the use of woven polypropylene geotextiles can stabilize the slope, reduce the collapse of the slope, shorten the construction period, and extend the service life of the slope. When carrying a large load, a composite geotextile with woven geotextiles and non-woven fabrics as the matrix can be used. Polypropylene fiber can be used as a filling material for concrete, plaster, etc. to improve the impact resistance, waterproofness and heat insulation of concrete.
